TEACHING
Aaron Scully has been teaching acting since 2008 within various schools around NSW. He opened his own school "The Hills Drama School" in 2012.
ACTING
He began his training in filmmaking at the Film and Television Production techniques course at North Sydney Tafe then immediately moved into studying acting at the Australian Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Aaron Scully is a Sydney-based actor with extensive experience across film, television and theatre. His film credits include Supernax (Will Smith), Bleeding Steel (Jackie Chan), Unseen Enemy, Home and Away: All or Nothing and Television work includes NCIS: Sydney, Harrow & Paper Dolls. Aaron has also appeared in over 30 television commercials as the main character.
Aaron brings a grounded, naturalistic presence to characters with authority, responsibility and emotional complexity, while also finding warmth and understated humour. His work ranges from police, security, military and professional roles to fathers, loyal friends and more conflicted or darker characters.
His approach is character-focused and naturalistic, with an emphasis on making performances feel truthful rather than performed.
VIDEO EDITING
In addition to his acting and teaching portfolio, Aaron has been known in the past to film documentary-style promotional material in Europe, Asia and Africa for the international tour company, Kumuka. He also worked as a freelance editor offering services to actors for their showreels as well as home videos, weddings, music videos and corporate presentation.
Over the years Aaron has packaged videos for various drama schools to represent each of the students showing their performance work. The Hills Drama School now has the benefit of this service being offered to them.
